So, the consensus seems to be that if you have your Javascript on in your browser, this creates some potential for serious problems (although in practice we don't seem to observe those problems recently).
This is not AJAX-specific, AJAX does not change the picture, except that you do need to have your Javascript on to use AJAX-based Web sites..
