This is probably a good place to keep track of the status of asteroid 2004 MN4.

Current data: Torino impact hazard scale: 4 (for impact on Friday, April 13, 2029), probability of impact about 2%, impact energy equivalent: 1400 megatons of TNT.

True, it does not do cross-references. This is also often a problem for software source code, since software is full of cross-references (both syntactically explicit, such as e.g. include files and variable names, and implied/assumed). So it's very far from ideal. Of course, Wikis don't do anything with version control for cross-references either, as far as I know.

I am not sure that a solution which is not too heavy exists/possible, however... CVS is relatively lightweight, at least, and does not impose too much on a user.
