Хотел бы когда-нибудь прочитать книжку Леноры Блюм, но в этом году - навряд ли.

да, у нас она, кажется, есть у кого-то в офисе --- надо будет еще раз попробовать посмотреть на нее...

Wow! They are waiting for your ground-breaking paper. Go for it! You have no more excuses.

That's what I think :-)

The only possible excuse is that I hate when people do this: "Proceedings: A technical report including the accepted papers will be distributed at the conference. It is planned to publish a special issue of a journal dedicated to the conference. After the conference, the participants will be invited to submit their papers for publication in this special issue. The papers will be subject to the usual refereeing process of the journal."

My experience taught me not to trust this process (e.g. proceedings of MFPS XIV, 1998 were only published in 2004 and included just 10 papers from both MFPS 14 and MFPS 16, so it's basically fake proceedings; proceedings of MFPS 12 remain unpublished)..

On the other hands, this one has a different set of organizers.. Earlier MFPS conferences were nice in this sense, then degradation happened..

So we'll see :-)

Good old method of bugging the organizers often works :-)
Besides, it's a good idea to write a journal version later anyhow, and maybe submit it to a better venue.
In short, it's all in your hands! :-)

Not with Michael Mislove, that's for sure..

But he is not organizing this one, so I'll consider submitting :-)

Conferences are to make your work known to colleagues, journals are to publish. It's nice when conferences give you both in a package, but it's not required.

True, but I'll be quite satisfied to make it known to some colleagues via personal communications :-)

Nah, this is too small segment of the community. You need to let your competitors know :-))))

Anyway, WTF are we doing wasting time on this useless discussion? Submit. Submit. Submit. Submit.
Is this clear enough? ;-)))))
